Brief Summary:

Scouts Leadership Course. This Course is open to all Scouts who wish to improve their leadership. It is a pre-requisite for participation in the NSW Cuboree as a youth-leader. The course meets the Leadership Course requirement of the Australian Scout Award.

Additional Information

The Scout Leadership course is run once per year in the SC&T. It is available to all scouts. The course is best suited to 13 year olds or older, New PLs, New APLs or anyone who feels they would like to attend. The course is a requirement for your Australian Scout Award (the peak award in scouts) and for those Scouts wishing to attend the NSW Cuboree 2023 as Junior Service Leaders (13 and over).

The course covers amongst other things, how to teach, how to problem solve, how to plan, how to organise and lead plus many other aspects of leadership.

It is an overnight lightweight camp and self-catered so that Scouts can demonstrate their camp skills.

Leaders attending will be asked to participate in running base and will be required to supervise Scouts during the night.

Scouts from outside the Region need to attend with a leader or make arrangements with the coordinator.

Cost covers the course fee of $25 including course materials, camp fee and a certificate of achievement.
