Northern Rivers District - Basic Water Rescues & TP Flat Water Training

A basic water rescue and flatwater canoe workshop for Venturers/Rovers/Leaders who are trying to gain/regain/maintain flatwater canoe qualifications.

You will need to provide the following:
1. PFD Level 50
2. Canoe if you have one.
3. Sun protection, including a hat.
4. Enclosed footwear.
5. Lunch and food for the day (or money to eat at fish and chip shop).
6. Pen and your current log for Canoeing.
7. Change of clothes as you will be getting wet
.
All PFD's and Canoes will need to be approved by the Activity Organiser before they can be used.
Canoes can be hired at a cost of $10 for the day - this *MUST* be arranged prior to the event.
If you're uncertain that your equipment satiates current Scout standards please communicate early so we can ensure we have sufficient suitable equipment on the day.

NOTE: Fibreclass canoes are permitted provided they are in good condition, do not sink when pushed under water, and have no sharp edges or other defects that may cause injury.
