Camp Overview
Region camp for Joeys is to introduce youth members to camp life as they start their Scouting journey.
Joeys need to have been invested to register.
The purpose of this camp is to encourage Joey independence. Parents or Guardians may attend, however they will not be walking around with the joeys and instead assisting on running activities. As per Scouts NSW policy, adults are to sleep separately from youth members.
All Joeys will be sleeping in tents with other youth members, helping them work towards their Camping - Stage 1 badge. Joey tents will be provided by their groups.
All parents and guardians attending must complete an A2 Adult Helper form and a valid Working With Children check prior and be approved by Scouts NSW prior to the closing date to be able to attend the camp. These items take a fair while to process so please start the application early. Additionally, any adults camping will need to supply their own tent or discuss borrowing a tent from their group should the not have one. All parents attedning the camp will be rostered to assist with camp tasks in the kitchen and assisting to run activites, they will not be moving around the camp with their child.
